MORE THAN A TRIP AROUND THE RINK

Fun you can feel.
Benefits that add up.

Roller skating turns movement into an experience: music, momentum, shared laughs and something new to master. It can also contribute to the regular physical activity that supports better health.

150 min

An adult weekly goal

CDC recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity each week, or 75 minutes of vigorous activity, plus muscle-strengthening on 2 days. Active skating can contribute to those aerobic minutes. CDC adult guidelines

60 min

Daily movement for kids

Children and teens ages 6–17 need at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous activity daily. Skating can be one part of a varied, active routine. CDC youth guidelines

7 METs

Real energy in every roll

The Adult Compendium lists general roller skating at 7.0 METs, a standard measure of energy use. Your actual effort depends on pace, skill and breaks. 2024 Adult Compendium

What the numbers mean: These are general activity recommendations and an adult activity estimate, not a measurement of this beginner lesson. Instruction and rest breaks make a lesson different from continuous skating. Build up at your own pace.

Get your heart
into it.

Sustained skating can get you breathing harder and your heart working. Regular physical activity supports heart health—and the rink gives you a reason to look forward to moving. Read the CDC benefits

Find your
balance.

Push, glide, turn, repeat. Skating asks your legs and body to work together while you practice balance, coordination and control. Each small improvement is something you can feel.

Make room
for a good mood.

Physical activity can improve sleep and reduce short-term feelings of anxiety. Add your favorite people and a little music, and a skate session becomes time well spent. CDC health benefits

EVERY SKATER STARTS SOMEWHERE

You bring the curiosity.
We’ll help you get rolling.

First-timer? Coming back after years away? This is your invitation. Our regular Saturday lesson program welcomes kids and adults, with step-by-step coaching. Learn to Skate Day is a friendly place to begin.

01

Get comfortable

Wear socks and comfortable clothes you can move in. Allow time to get your skates on before the noon lesson, and let the team know it’s your first visit.

02

Take it one step at a time

Follow your coach’s guidance, start at a comfortable pace and take breaks when you need them. Small steps count. So does trying again.

03

Keep the feeling going

Want more time on wheels? Stay for the 1–6 PM session for $10 on October 3, 2026. You can also explore our regular lessons to keep building your skills.
